What Is the Battle of Chalons?

The Battle of Chalons is Evony’s marquee Alliance-vs.-Alliance competitive event. Spanning 6 continents, it pits the strongest Alliances against each other in a structured, bracket-style tournament for prestige, territory, and powerful rewards.

This is not a casual event. It rewards coordinated teams, sharp battlefield decisions, and consistent season performance. Every Alliance needs to earn its place before the battles even begin.

How Alliances Qualify

Your spot depends on how you performed in the Constantinople Ultimate War Season. Here’s the breakdown for the three leagues:

  • Major League: The top 256 Alliances from each continent’s season ranking.

  • Elite League: Alliances ranked between 257 and 1,280.

  • Junior League: All remaining Alliances that qualified.

To be eligible for Personal Season Ranking rewards, players must have been in their Alliance for more than 5 days before the end of each round. The Alliance itself must also rank in the top 500 in the Alliance Round Ranking for that round to count.

Consistency across the entire season is not optional. It is the price of entry.

Battlefield Rules and Scoring

Once inside the Battle of Chalons, each Alliance is automatically matched against three opponents from the same league. The four Alliances compete for score across the following actions:

  • Killing Monsters on the battlefield
  • Eliminating enemy troops
  • Occupying key buildings

Two additional mechanics add depth to each match. Supply Carriages spawn randomly on the battlefield. When a carriage reaches an occupied building, the occupying player can choose one of three buffs. Timing your occupation of key structures gives your team an edge every time a carriage arrives.

Medical Tents and Simple Medical Tents also refresh randomly. Visiting them instantly heals your hospitalized troops. Managing your losses is key, and these tents can completely flip the script mid-battle.

Tournament Stages Explained

The Battle of Chalons runs through several distinct stages.

Honor Ranking Stage: Four rounds of battle. All Alliances earn Honor points based on placement: 1st earns 5, 2nd earns 3, 3rd earns 1, and 4th earns none. Alliances tied on Honor are separated by total score.

Promotion, Semifinals, and Finals: After the Honor Ranking stage, the top 64 Major League Alliances advance. Elite and Junior League Alliances do not progress beyond this point.

Following the five Promotion rounds, Alliances are sorted into four Semifinal groups based on ranking. After six Semifinal rounds, the top-performing Alliances from each group meet in the Finals to determine the champion and final standings.

Just a heads-up: The Battle of Constantinople and Gaugamela will be taking a break during the Promotion, Semifinals, and Finals.

Rewards Worth Fighting For

Rewards for the Major League are pretty significant and get even better as you climb the ranks.

Alliance Glory Castle: Rhodes

  • Alliance Research Speed +12%
  • Alliance In-Rally Troop Attack +12%

Alliance Glory Castle: Rhodes, Sacred Radiance

  • Alliance Construction Speed +15%
  • Alliance In-Rally Troop Attack +15%
  • Alliance March Speed +15%

Alliances that earn Rhodes can upgrade their Alliance City to a Level 4 Glory Castle. Rhodes, Sacred Radiance pushes that to Level 5, expanding territory further. Both can be viewed in Alliance City under Glory Castle.

Top-ranked Major League Alliances also receive the Mycenae Famous City Cultural Subordinate City Key, which comes loaded with standout buffs:

  • In-Rally Ground Troop Attack and Defense +25%
  • Ranged Troop Attack +18%
  • Enemy Mounted Troop Attack -20% when defending the Main City
  • Subordinate City Troop Death to Survival Rate +20%

Avatar Frames and Alliance Flags

Individual players in participating alliances that hit specified Major League ranks unlock two new Epic and Legendary avatar frames: the Golden Feather Splendor (Epic) and the Golden Feather Splendor (Legendary).

Four exclusive Alliance Flags are also up for grabs: Tulip Flag, Nekomata Flag, Tarasque Flag, and Medusa Flag. Each flag belongs to a specific competing team, and only the team champion earns it.

Participation Requirements

Every participating player must meet the following conditions before sign-up closes:

  • Be in the Alliance for at least 3 days
  • Have a Keep at Level 15 or above
  • Be assigned by their R4 or R5

Each Alliance can field up to 25 members. Players without an Alliance cannot sign up or enter the battlefield. Major League Alliances sign up automatically. Elite and Junior League Alliances must register manually through their R4 or R5.

Final Takeaway

Season 14 of the Battle of Chalons is a well-structured, high-stakes competitive event that rewards Alliances built on discipline and coordination. The tier system is clear, the scoring mechanics are transparent, and the rewards justify the effort. If your Alliance has put in the work throughout the Constantinople Ultimate War Season, this is where it counts. Coordinate early, manage your member roster carefully, and make every battlefield action matter.
