Epic Historic General, Hatshepsut, has been designed as a ranged troop general in Evony: The King’s Return. She can bring great benefits to the ranged troops’ attack. Please read the guide to learn about her strength, how to acquire her, and the best combinations for her.
General Story Overview
Hatshepsut, pharaoh of Egypt’s Eighteenth Dynasty, broke the throne’s old barrier of gender with lucid wisdom and fearless resolve, opening a flourishing golden age. Schooled from childhood in the arts of rule and ritual, she claimed her divine lineage as the Daughter of Amun, took the twin crowns of Upper and Lower Egypt, and wore the ceremonial beard of kingship. Her legitimacy was chiseled into temple stone all the time.
Her reign of more than two decades traded conquest for prosperity. Peace held along the Nile while commerce surged, and her grand expedition sailed to the fabled Land of Punt, returning to Thebes with gold, incense, ivory, and rare marvels that filled markets and sanctuaries alike. Across Egypt, she raised majestic temples and monuments, hymns of sunlight and stone, binding the realm with splendor and faith.
Hatshepsut’s life fused feminine strength with sovereign judgment. Calm yet unyielding, she shaped a tranquil, thriving Egypt and taught her people a lasting truth: the greatness of a ruler is not measured by gender, but by virtue, vision, and the works they leave to the ages.

The comparison shows that Hatshepsut significantly boosts the attack of ranged troops, arguably offering the highest attack bonus to archers in Evony. Besides, she also provides greater bonuses to ranged troops’ defense and march size capacity than Artemisia I. However, Artemisia I offers a better HP bonus to archers, and Artemisia I doesn’t need to carry a dragon or spiritual beast.
Furthermore, Artemisia I has a minor rally-related buff, while Hatshepsut has a few reinforcing buffs and a little debuff against enemy troops.
Overall, if you prioritize archer attack, Hatshepsut may be better for you due to her strong attack buffs, currently placing her in the top tier.
If you’ve already trained Artemisia I, that’s fine too. She can serve as the main general for the 2nd ranged troops’ march set, helping with attacks or providing reinforcements, or as an assistant general to Hatshepsut. We’ll explain this in more detail in the following part.
How to Pair General Hatshepsut?
She can be paired with many ranged generals, such as:
-
Ahmose I
-
Artemisia Ⅰ
-
Gonzalo
-
James Cook
-
Ragnar
-
Franz Joseph I
-
Tachibana Ginchiyo
-
Godfrey of Bouillon
-
Louis IX
-
Douglas
-
Elektra
-
……
Note: Her combination with James Cook, Franz Joseph I, and Tachibana Ginchiyo cannot use the “Ranged Troop Attack” skill book, and her combination with Elektra, this skill book can only be used on Elektra.
However, there are still some generals who will conflict with her, such as:
-
Brian Boru
-
Sigurd
-
Mihai
The combinations we most recommend are:
-
Hatshepsut + Ahmose I
-
Hatshepsut + Gonzalo
-
Hatshepsut + Artemisia Ⅰ
-
Hatshepsut + James Cook
