Duty Generals in Evony: Unlocking and Appointing for Maximum Gains

In Evony, the “Duty” buttons are located on buildings in the main city and can be unlocked when these buildings reach a certain level. At this point, players can appoint Duty Generals to gain various building benefits. This article introduces the concept of Duty in Evony and summarizes the generals suitable for officer positions, providing valuable insights for players.

Unlocking and Appointing Conditions

Duty in Evony is divided into three types based on building categories: Military, Defense, and Interior. Appointing officers to these duties grants different types of gains to the buildings. These gains can be viewed by clicking “Details” in the Duty interface.

Officers are classified into five grades, with higher ranks bringing greater benefits. Here are the unlocking conditions for different buildings:

Military:

Officers are ranked from Junior to Super. Each level requires different attributes in Attack, Leadership, Defense, Politics, and Power.

Archer Camp Officer:

  • John I of Portugal: Increases ranged troops’ attack, defense, and HP by 5%, and training speed by 20%.

Barracks Officer:

  • Abd al-Rahman I: Increases ground troops’ attack, defense, and HP by 5%, and training speed by 20%.

Workshop Officer:

  • Gwon Ryul: Increases siege machines’ attack, defense, and HP by 5%, and training speed by 20%.

Stables Officer:

  • Stilicho: Increases mounted troops’ attack by 15%, and defense and HP by 10%.
  • Oleg of Novgorod: Increases mounted troops’ attack, defense, and HP by 5%, and training speed by 20%.

Rally Spot Officer:

  • Toyotomi Hideyoshi: Increases march size by 5%, and troops’ attack and HP (while attacking) by 5%.

Defense Duty Generals

Archer Tower Officer:

  • Ban Chao: Reduces enemy mounted troops’ attack by 20% and increases in-city ranged troops’ attack by 20%.
  • Maurice of Nassau: Reduces enemy ranged troops’ attack by 15% and increases in-city ranged troops and siege machines’ attack by 20%.

Hospital Officer:

  • Skanderbeg: Increases hospital capacity by 25%.

Trap Factory Officer:

  • Otto the Great: Increases in-city siege machines’ attack by 30% and reduces enemy ranged troops’ attack by 15%.
  • Askia Muhammad: Reduces the gem and resource cost of siege machine repairs by 15% and increases in-city siege machines’ attack by 25%.

Interior Duty Generals

Keep Officer:

  • Menshikov: Increases construction speed in the city by 20%.
  • Zhuge Liang: Increases construction speed in the city by 20%.
  • Ashoka: Increases ranged troops’ attack by 20% and reduces enemy ground troops’ HP by 15%.

Academy Officer:

  • Eulji Mundeok: Increases research speed by 20%.

Tips and Notes

  • The absence of the above generals does not affect the appointment of officers. Buildings can still gain benefits as long as the generals meet the requirements.
  • When an officer is upgraded in tier, reappoint the general to activate the new tier’s benefits.
  • As Duty Generals ascend, their Special Skills become more effective. Recruiting and ascending generals through the Tavern can enhance city defense.
  • Currently, only special equipment (Consul’s Staff, Consul’s Toga) affects Duty Generals. Other equipment does not.
  • No Skill Book has been applied to Duty Generals so far.
  • Only a few General Specialties take effect when the General assumes Duty. Without special instructions, most specialties do not apply.
  • Spiritual Beasts and Dragons do not affect Duty Generals.
